COASTAL METAL SERVICE
Coastal Metal Service began operation on May 1, 1991 at 9:10 P.M. by producing its first 26 gauge 36" x 96" beaded flat sheet. This event had taken 7 months of preparation and considerable commitment from our parent organization, Best Distributing Co. The commitment was that we would be a quality-focused manufacturer with state of the art equipment. With this state-of-the-art equipment, we have had capabilities that many of our competitors are lacking.
AN ORIGINAL CONCEPT
There are quite a number of companies that produce flat sheets for the HVAC industry and there are a number of companies that produce roofing and siding panels for the construction industry. BUT we are the only company we know of to do both.
HVAC
Our original product line was limited to galvanized flat sheets in widths of 36" and 48". We produce standard 8' long and 10' long galvanized flat sheets in several coating weights like many other service centers. The difference is that we encourage special length orders. We have the ability to cut sheets to width and length at the same time. We also offer beaded sheets in all gauges. We offer uniform sheet count skids and stagger count the sheets in ten's for the convenience of our customers. When you order a skid of 26 gauge G-90 48" x 96" flat sheets you know that you are going to get 150 sheets every time.
ROOFING & SIDING
After the first 30 days of operation, we began producing galvanized DRI LOC® and 5V. In September of 1991 we added the painted panels to our production.
Most people wonder why it took so long to add a painted product to the line. The reason was that we wanted to offer the best product that we could at a competitive price. We chose our paint supplier. They advised us as to how the different substrates effect the quality of the product. With their help we chose our paint system and a G-90 galvanized substrate.
NEW PRODUCTS ADDED
In 1992 we added Mill Finished Aluminum in .025, .032, .040 to our HVAC line of products. In July of 1993 we added RIB LOC® to our panel line of products. This addition made us one of the very few manufacturers that offer two of the most recognizable profiles in the roofing and siding panel industry. This is when the term put a "LOC" on your next building project was coined. We also added .016 Diamond Embossed Mill Finished Aluminum to our product line.
ACCESSORIES & TRIM
In November of 1991 we began producing our own accessories. At first we fabricated everything on a press brake. While this equipment produced a good part we were limited to the difficulty and complexity of the parts that we could produce. In January 1994 we purchased a 21' computer-controlled folding machine to produce our accessories items. At first we were concerned only with increasing the volume of parts due to increased sales. However we soon learned that not only had we increased productivity, we were now capable of producing very complex parts. In January 2001 we added our second 21 foot computer controlled folding machine.
With the ability to produce 21' parts we now offer coping and special order parts for many commercial projects. Painted steel, painted aluminum, copper, stainless steel and bare galvanized up to 14 gauge are but a few of the materials that we can work with.
We are among the very few manufacturers that produce custom trim and accessory items for our roofing and siding panel customers routinely.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
 All orders for the HVAC and roofing/siding markets are custom cut to the customer's requirement.
All accessory and trim orders are produced to the customer's request at the time of the order.
To aid in deliveries and assure customer service, Coastal Metal Service operates its own fleet of company trucks.
NEW IN 1998
Coastal Metal Service is proud to announce the production of commercial / architectural standing seam concealed fastener panels.
 Our commitment to the customer has always been to provide the very best product available on the market. We are installing state of the art roll forming equipment to produce our line of commercial / architectural standing seam concealed fastener panels. The equipment is our HERR-VOSS precision leveler to minimize the effects of oil canning.
Our commitment is to have a one (1) week to ten (10) day lead time on all orders placed.
All of our standing seam concealed fastener panels feature 24 gauge G-90 galvanized with the COLOR LOC® paint system applied. All COLOR LOC® colors feature a Kynar 500® Fluoropolymer paint with a 30 year warranty.
